A commercial vehicle policy is a great way to help protect the small business you've worked so hard to grow. This type of auto insurance helps shield your business from a financial loss when one of your company's cars or trucks is involved in an auto accident. Depending on the laws in Tennessee and the type of business you manage or own, you may be required to purchase a commercial policy.

Commercial auto insurance isn't right for everyone, but you could be eligible for this type of policy if you use your truck or car to do activities related to your business or job. Here are a few situations in which a commercial policy could be right for you: you use your vehicle to haul (or tow a trailer hauling) tools or equipment related to your business, you transport people for a fee, you have employees that drive company-owned cars, or your vehicles are titled in the name of your business.

At Direct Auto & Life Insurance, we're committed to meeting the needs of your small business. Some companies claim to offer the cheapest commercial policies, but we don't have to. Obeying Tennessee's New Driving Laws

Effective July 1, 2015, driving uninsured in Tennessee became costlier, with the fine for driving without the proper insurance increasing from $100 to $300. From January 1, 2016 and onwards, cops could legally have your vehicle towed on the spot if you don’t have proof of insurance. Prior to January 1, 2017, the state of Tennessee will be implementing a new insurance verification program, available online. The system is designed to track down drivers without insurance through their vehicle registrations. Vehicles that are owned by uninsured drivers will be ineligible for renewal.
