A commercial vehicle policy is a great way to help protect the small business you've worked so hard to grow. This kind of insurance helps safeguard your business from financial loss when one of your company's vans, cars, or trucks is part of an auto accident. Depending on the type of business you own or manage, Tennessee may require that you purchase a commercial policy.

A commercial auto policy isn't meant for everyone, but you could be eligible for one if you use your truck or car to conduct activities related to your job. Here are a few situations in which a commercial policy could be right for you: you use your vehicle to haul (or tow a trailer hauling) tools or equipment related to your business, you transport people for a fee, you have employees that drive company-owned cars, or your vehicles are titled in the name of your business.

Here at Direct Auto & Life, we're committed to meeting the unique needs of your small business. While other companies claim that their one-size-fits-all policies will work for you, we don't. Our commercial auto policies can be specially customized to suit your business and your budget. The fine for being an uninsured driver in Tennessee is $300 (and it's a Class A Misdemeanor). Law enforcement officials can have your car towed immediately if you don’t have proof of insurance. On January 1, 2017, Tennessee put into place an online insurance verification program. This new program can locate drivers who do not have valid insurance, all through vehicle registration records. If a vehicle is identified as having an uninsured owner, the owner will not be able to renew their vehicle's registration.
