Uninsured drivers in Tennessee caught driving without the proper insurance could face a fine of $300. Cops could have your vehicle towed on the spot if you are not able to provide proof of insurance. On January 1, 2017, the state of Tennessee implemented a new online insurance verification program. The system can track down drivers who do not have valid insurance by reviewing digital vehicle registration records. If a vehicle is identified as having an uninsured owner, the owner will not be able to renew their vehicle's registration.
